What is Powder Coating?

创建于2024.06.30
Powder coating is a type of coating applied in powder form, using an electrostatic charge to adhere the powder to the surface of the workpiece. Unlike traditional liquid paints, powder coatings do not require solvents, making them more environmentally friendly. The application process includes:
  1. Spraying: A special spray gun is used to apply the powder coating to the workpiece. The gun imparts an electrostatic charge to the powder, allowing it to adhere firmly to the workpiece.
  2. Powder Coverage: The powder coating evenly covers the surface, forming a complete layer.
  3. Baking and Curing: The coated workpiece is placed in an oven and heated to the powder’s melting point. Once melted, the powder flows over the surface, forming a uniform layer. It then solidifies into a durable finish upon cooling.
This coating provides a smooth, attractive appearance and excellent resistance to scratches, cracking, blistering, UV rays, and oxidation.
